Born and raised in Jersey outside NYC, grew up in the 60's-70's when there was an explosion of music and culture that changed the fabric of society. A friend taught me how to play the accordion when I was 14, which was replaced by an organ, and I've been playing keys in bands ever since, all kinds of music; rock n roll, Motown, psychedelic, funk, cowboy, Latin, oldies, do wops, progressive rock. It was a great time to learn how to be a musician
After spending a few years playing full time, I went corporate and started an engineering company in Vermont; easier to pay bills and raise a family when there's cash flow. But I always had a band and always recorded our music; music got me through hard times in life, something I never forgot.
Ended up with a company office in San Diego (warmer than Vermont), which eventually became the home of Amplified Studios. Built our first studio myself in the backroom and quickly discovered how little I knew about building one. Knocked down another wall and expanded the studio into what is now our control room after studying how to build one correctly. We finally took over our neighbor's unit and built studio B, our live room.
Amplified Studios was founded on providing acoustic perfection, great gear, and giving our clients the best possible recordings. Our online publication, amplifiedsd.com, features articles, blogs, and showcases for the San Diego music and art scenes in which we give total attention to local bands and artists.
